Dave Perry, USA
Currently ranked 32nd, Perry’s ISAF match racing ranking is higher than that of any
other US sailor. late this summer, he placed second in the Knickerbocker Cup and
won the Seawanhaka Cup. As the rules guru and USSTAG match racing coach
puts it, “I’m inside my goal of having my ranking be lower than my age!” Running around the country leading instructional seminars keeps him busy and gives him the opportunity to scout old and new talent. |

Stratis Andreadis, GRE The Atalanti saling team was formed almost 40 years ago in Athens, Greece. For the last 10 months the team helmed by Stratis Andreadis has focused on learning how to succesfully match race. After spending the first half of 2010 learning, i.e. losing badly, in European grade 3 and 4 events the team had it’s first success in the Advance Match Race Clinic and invitational grade 3 in Sheboygan by coming second. The team then went on to have podium finishes in three out of four of the next top event it competed in. By this time next year we hope this biography to be at least page length. |

Tyler Rice, ISV After representing the St. Thomas Yacht Club in optimists, lasers, club 420's, and various larger boats, Tyler Rice is now competing in the top level of college sailing for Brown University. Along with his collegiate racing, he has recently gained interest in match race skippering and took an internship at the Chicago Match Race Center this past summer with Taylor Canfield. Aside from the numerous regattas he has been on the bow for Canfield over the years (including a first and second in this regatta), last school year Tyler placed 2nd in New England's and 3rd in Nationals for college match racing as a tactician. In his first match race regatta as a skipper, the grade 3 Eurex Match Cup in Chicago, Tyler finshed in an impressive 5th place ahead of many veterans. Unfortunately he got edged out of the top two this year at College New England's and didn't qualify for the Nationals, but is still looking forward to next year and pursuing match racing to the fullest. |
